As a Quality Specialist, you will be responsible for audits where you will analyze special problems arising from faulty methods and recommend corrective measures. You are also responsible for meeting all safety, quality and productivity standard 

Job Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to) 

  • Performing a variety of inspection functions to check quality and accuracy of in-process parts  

  • Inspects and accepts and/or rejects purchased gauges or gaging equipment  

  • Analyze special problems arising from faulty methods  

  • Performs salvage weld operations on miscellaneous parts  

  • Lays out parts using advanced mathematical calculations and precision inspection equipment 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

LANGUAGE SKILLS   

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS   

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Previous quality experience 

  • Previous assembly or machine operating experience 

  • Ability to work various shifts and flexible hours

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, flashes, burns, eyestrain and sparks from welder and grinder. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat while welding in hot weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
