Heavy-Duty Electrical Mechanic

The JADA Group of Companies is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious individual to join our operations team as a Heavy-Duty Electrical Mechanic. The jobholder will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the mechanical, electrical and electronic systems of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, including, trucks, excavators, loaders, cranes, and other construction machinery. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Electrical Diagnosis and Repair Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic systems on heavy-duty equipment. Diagnose faults using diagnostic tools, software, and specialized testing instruments. Repair or replace faulty wiring, relays, switches, alternators, sensors, and lighting systems. Test and calibrate electrical systems and components according to manufacturer standards. Mechanical Maintenance and Repairs Perform standard mechanical maintenance such as oil and filter changes, belt and hose replacements, and hydraulic inspections. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues including brakes, suspensions, and powertrain systems. Assist in engine and transmission overhauls when required. Conduct preventive maintenance checks to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Support other technicians and mechanics with general mechanical work as directed by the supervisor. Preventive Maintenance Carry out regular inspections and maintenance schedules on electrical and mechanical systems. Identify and correct potential issues before equipment failure occurs. Keep detailed service records and recommend corrective actions. Reporting and Documentation Maintain accurate records of all electrical and mechanical repairs, parts replaced, and time spent on each task. Submit daily and weekly maintenance activity reports to the Equipment Manager. Document diagnostic results and ensure that all work orders are completed and filed appropriately. Communicate equipment condition, safety issues, and repair status to supervisors in a timely manner. Safety and Compliance Follow all company safety procedures and industry regulations when working with electrical systems and heavy machinery. Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards. Report unsafe practices, hazards, or equipment defects immediately to management. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Technical certification/diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Electrical Systems, or related field. Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintaining and repairing heavy-duty vehicles and equipment in construction. Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals. Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment. Physically fit and able to work in field and workshop environments.
