Senior Electrician

The JADA Group of Companies is seeking a competent and experienced Senior Electrician to lead electrical operations across our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and overseeing installations, and ensuring all electrical work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes and Company standards. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Electrical Installation • Install and maintain wiring systems, conduits, trunking, etc. • Run cables through walls, ceilings, and underground systems. • Install and connect distribution boards and panels, circuit breakers and protection devices, lighting systems and fixtures, sockets, switches, and electrical accessories. • Perform both rough-in and final installations. Plans and Layout • Read, interpret, and execute work based on electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications for residential and commercial projects. • Determine layout for wiring systems, circuits and distribution boards, and lighting and power outlets. • Mark out positions for switches, sockets, panels, and equipment. • Ensure all installations align with project designs and requirements. Testing, Commissioning & Troubleshooting • Test electrical systems to ensure safety and functionality. • Diagnose faults, short circuits, and system failures. • Carry out corrective actions and repairs. • Assist with final inspections and commissioning of systems. Project Coordination & Compliance • Work closely with Site Managers, Engineers and Artisans to ensure electrical works align with project timelines. • Assist in planning materials and labour requirements. • Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes and regulations. • Comply with all health and safety standards and conduct basic risk assessments. Reporting & Documentation • Maintain records of work completed and materials used. • Report on site progress, issues and delays to management. • Maintain accountability for electrical materials and components. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: • Certified Electrician (recognized certification and license). • Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction or industrial electrical work. • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety standards.
