About the Role
~2 min readWe’re looking for an experienced OTC Derivatives Reporting Specialist to help our Legal and Compliance team build and operate reliable swap reporting across APAC, with a particular focus on Singapore and Hong Kong.
You’ll work closely with our internal Trading, Operations and Legal and Compliance teams, and our software engineers, to turn reporting requirements into working systems. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how swaps are traded, documented, booked and managed throughout their lifecycle, and who enjoys working through the details of how those transactions should be reported.
Additional responsibilities of this role will include:
- Resolving interpretation questions with your Legal and Compliance colleagues, then translating requirements into clear, field-level mappings–from internal bookings and lifecycle events to reporting schemas
- Working with software engineers to specify source data, transformation logic, and exception handling, and testing implementations to ensure reports are complete and accurate
- Understanding where internal booking representations differ from the transactions and events that need to be reported, and identifying reporting challenges caused by booking conventions, missing data or product complexity
- Investigating rejected submissions, reconciliation breaks, and incorrect or missing reports; tracing issues to their root causes; and helping implement corrections and controls to prevent recurrence
- Engaging early on new products and trading flows to explain reporting requirements and to find practical ways to support trading while meeting regulatory obligations
- Keeping pace with regulatory and technical changes, maintaining clear documentation, and working with reporting providers and counterparties to resolve issues
- Have substantial hands-on experience with both Singapore’s MAS and Hong Kong’s OTC derivatives reporting regimes, including implementing reporting systems or taking meaningful responsibility for their day-to-day operation
- Understand swap economics and trade lifecycles, including amendments, resets, novations, terminations, valuations, and collateral-related data
- Familiar with ISDA documentation and definitions, including how confirmations and relevant agreement terms relate to trade economics and reporting
- Comfortable inspecting trade-level data and reporting messages, querying datasets and discussing data models with software engineers; SQL skills are valuable, and scripting experience is a plus
- Can explain a reporting problem you’ve worked through in detail, connecting the trade economics and internal booking to the applicable requirement, field mapping, implementation, and checks you used to establish that the reporting was correct
- Can communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical colleagues, exercise sound judgement and take ownership of detailed problems through to resolution
- Experience with other APAC reporting regimes is a plus, but we’re primarily looking for depth in both Singapore and Hong Kong
- Fluent in English
