Internal Audit Intern - Summer 2027

Summary

The objective of Jewelers Mutual’s Internal Audit Internship is to provide interns challenging and rewarding experiences related to internal audit responsibilities and processes. The Internal Audit Intern will assist with financial and operational audit activities across the business. This position will work under close guidance from audit staff, gaining hands-on exposure to internal controls, audit methodology, and Jewelers Mutual’s operations while contributing to real audit engagements.

What You’ll Do: 

• Under the guidance of audit team members, assist with audits and reviews of financial and operational processes.
• Help document business processes to support evaluation of the design and effectiveness of controls.
• Assist in gathering and organizing evidence to support audit testing and conclusions.
• Participate in team discussions on control strengths and weaknesses, contributing observations and ideas for improvement.
• Support the team in tracking the status of audit observations and remediation plans.
• Assist with preparing summaries, schedules, or working papers under the review of audit staff.
• Communicate with team members to gather information and ask clarifying questions as needed.
• Complete a summer project or presentation, as assigned, to be shared with the JM Executive Management team and other summer interns at the end of the internship.

What You’ll Bring:   

Minimum Qualifications 

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management or a related field.
• Coursework or demonstrated interest in accounting, finance, business, or risk management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative in a professional office environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Have a projected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029 preferred. Projected graduation date between December 2029 and May 2030 will also be considered.
• Interest in pursuing a professional certification (CPA, CIA, CISA, CMA, or similar) after graduation.
• Prior coursework, project, or leadership experience involving data analysis or business processes.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and sound judgment.
