As a Chief Engineer at JLL, you will lead the operational management of critical building systems and engineering services to help ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable workplace environment for our clients. This role is responsible for protecting and enhancing the value of client assets through strong technical leadership, proactive maintenance strategies, and operational excellence. You will oversee the engineering team, drive reliability-based maintenance programs, support capital planning initiatives, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, lighting, temperature controls, cabling, and critical infrastructure environments.
- →Lead and support engineering staff in daily operations while promoting safe work practices, operational efficiency, and high-quality service delivery.
- →Develop and implement preventive, corrective, and reliability-centered maintenance programs to maximize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- →Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, safety standards, environmental regulations, and client operational requirements.
- →Manage contractor activities, monitor work quality and safety practices, and coordinate vendor services within the facility.
- →Support capital improvement planning by identifying infrastructure upgrade opportunities and assisting with equipment replacement strategies and project execution.
- →Maintain accurate engineering logs, infrastructure documentation, maintenance records, and oversight of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (Corrigo).
- →Respond to facility issues and emergencies involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or other building systems, including after-hours support when required.
- →Develop project estimates, prepare proposals for site leadership, and adapt schedules and priorities to support operational and client needs.
Requirements
~2 min read- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- EPA Universal Certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of facility operations or engineering experience, including leadership, supervisory, and customer service responsibilities.
- Strong working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and critical environment operations.
- Experience developing and executing preventive and corrective maintenance programs within a commercial or industrial facility environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), including Corrigo or similar platforms.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, specifications, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime and on-site response to after-hours emergencies as needed.
- Experience working at varying heights using ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, or platform lifts.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, collaborative, and service-focused work environment where everyone is empowered to thrive.
- Have the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
- Have the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs as required during shift
- Have the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift
- Have the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis during shift
- Have the ability to walk extensively throughout the facility during shift
- Experience overseeing major facility infrastructure projects from planning through completion.
- Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance methodologies and asset lifecycle planning.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to present recommendations and proposals to leadership.
- Experience supporting compliance documentation, audit preparation, and regulatory inspections.
- Technical training, trade certification, or additional coursework in facilities management, engineering, or building operations.
- Experience working in client-facing commercial real estate or critical facilities environments.
- Ability to lead teams through operational change while embracing more innovative ways of working and continuous improvement initiatives.
