Job Summary: The Graduate Student Services Program Manager provides student services to current graduate students in the college. Counsels students in their focus area and coursework. Monitors and manages the academic progress of the students. Manages other student learning opportunities such as experiential learning and professional development. May collaborate with the Corporate Relations team to establish and support relationships with MBA alumni.


Additional Department Summary: Leads operations of the Office for Graduate Studies which oversees graduate education across the College of Communication & Information Sciences. Administers the college-wide doctoral program, collectively serving over 700 graduate students and over 80 full-time graduate faculty. Reports to the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies. Manages college-wide graduate admissions, programming, advisor support services, and misconduct.

Serves as the primary liaison between the Office for Graduate Studies and academic units and as the PhD Program Lead in the administration of graduate degree and certificate programs. Works directly with academic units and faculty advisors collegewide to enhance the culture and operations of the College’s graduate enterprise to build a shared sense of purpose and understanding.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of academic advising or student services experience; OR Master's degree and two (2) years of academic advising or student services experience.


Skills and Knowledge: Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively across a complex organization with various groups of people. Ability to plan and execute recruitment strategies and student engagement opportunities. Familiarity and aptitude for leveraging data to inform decision making.


Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a discipline offered by the College of Communication & Information Sciences, Higher Education, or a related field. Familiarity with graduate assistant appointments, course scheduling, student advising and other aspects of academic operations. Experience supervising staff and students. Knowledge of general trends and issues in graduate education and graduate program administration.
