Job Summary: The Venue Systems Engineer I designs, integrates, configures, and maintains the venue technology and live event production systems deployed across athletic venues, control rooms, press facilities, event spaces, and departmental facilities under general supervision. Engineers and optimizes systems for production audio, video and IPTV distribution, RF transport, digital signage, and broadcast integration. Coordinates the design, configuration, commissioning, and lifecycle management of new venue technologies. Ensures reliable, high-availability performance during live athletic events, television productions, and facility rentals. Maintains production audio routing and synchronization. Manages IP-based media transport and distribution systems. Troubleshoots complex AV systems within a converged network infrastructure in collaboration with network engineering staff.


Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of event technology, audio visual technical support, or network operations experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of event technology, audio visual technical support, or network operations experience; OR bachelor's degree and some event technology, audio visual technical support, or network operations experience.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Skills and Knowledge: Ability to manage multiple projects, incidents, and event demands simultaneously while maintaining exceptional quality, attention to detail, and customer service. Ability to work independently. Ability to collaborate with broadcast television crews, radio crews, and event personnel.


Preferred Qualifications: Experience with large-scale production audio systems. Experience with IPTV and media distribution systems. Familiarity with IP-based media transport standards, including SMPTE ST 2110 and Precision Time Protocol (PTP). Experience with RF distribution and coordination. Experience with digital signage systems and content management. Understanding of enterprise networking concepts supporting professional AV, including multicast, VLANs, Quality of Service (QoS), and switching.
