As a Behavioral Health Care Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to individuals navigating cancer treatment and related challenges. Working within an integrated collaborative care model, you will provide personalized behavioral health support to oncology patients through virtual consultations and ongoing care coordination. You will conduct clinical assessments, develop tailored treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to improve patients' emotional well-being and overall quality of life. Collaborating closely with oncology providers and consulting psychiatrists, you will ensure patients receive coordinated, accessible, and effective care throughout their treatment journey. You will also monitor clinical progress, maintain accurate patient records, and adapt interventions based on individual needs. This remote opportunity offers a meaningful chance to contribute to the advancement of psycho-oncology care within a supportive, multidisciplinary, and mission-driven healthcare environment.

  • Conduct comprehensive and structured assessments of the mental health, behavioral health, and overall functioning of oncology patients referred by partner cancer centers and clinics.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments, using evidence-based modular therapeutic approaches tailored to patients' needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based behavioral health interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and other appropriate treatment modalities.
  • Provide virtual mental health care through video consultations, telephone sessions, and between-session messaging when clinically appropriate.
  • Continuously assess patient progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and adjust therapeutic interventions and care plans according to individual outcomes and evolving needs.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date patient registry in accordance with Collaborative Care Model requirements.
  • Participate in regular consultation meetings with the consulting psychiatrist to review cases, discuss treatment strategies, and coordinate clinical recommendations.
  • Collaborate with oncology providers and multidisciplinary care teams, communicating patient progress, clinical recommendations, and relevant treatment updates.
  • Attend care coordination meetings as needed to ensure continuity and integration of behavioral health services within oncology treatment plans.
  • Manage an assigned patient caseload while targeting approximately 65% patient-facing time.
  • Participate in initial and ongoing clinical training to strengthen knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches and specialized psycho-oncology care.
  • Engage in ongoing clinical supervision, departmental meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Maintain appropriate professional licensure in your home state, if licensed, and obtain additional state licenses when requested and required for patient care.
  • Perform other clinical and administrative responsibilities as needed to support effective care delivery.
