As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will work across Cybersecurity, Engineering, and Service teams to protect and maintain the security of a technology platform. You will investigate escalated security issues, respond to SOC alerts, coordinate incidents, and drive security concerns through to resolution. The role combines hands-on technical work with cross-functional communication and incident leadership. You will also contribute to new security initiatives, emerging technology assessments, remediation efforts, and security improvements. This position offers opportunities to mentor junior team members while working with a broad range of enterprise security and infrastructure technologies. It is well suited to an experienced security professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes ownership of complex challenges.

Collaborate closely with Cybersecurity, Engineering, and Service teams to investigate and resolve escalated technical and security issues in a timely manner.
Monitor and respond to SOC escalations and alerts from security tools to maintain the health, availability, and security of the platform.
Lead incident coordination across internal and external stakeholders while ensuring activities align with applicable regulatory requirements.
Communicate technical and security issues effectively to management, peers, clients, and other stakeholders.
Monitor emerging technologies and maintain awareness of associated security risks, controls, and industry developments.
Scope, implement, and support new cybersecurity projects, initiatives, and security improvements.
Own security-related issues and follow them through to resolution, coordinating stakeholders and maintaining appropriate documentation.
Support security remediation and change management processes.
Develop and maintain technical, security, and policy documentation.
Mentor junior team members and contribute technical expertise to team projects and initiatives.
Participate in occasional overnight, weekend, and emergency on-call rotations as required.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering, technical security, or a closely related cybersecurity role.
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
Strong experience across the incident response lifecycle, including investigation, coordination, remediation, and resolution.
Familiarity with industry-standard security tools and technologies such as Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, SonicWall, FortiGate, SentinelOne, ThreatLocker, Microsoft Defender, Google Workspace, content filtering, and protective DNS.
Familiarity with Microsoft technologies including Office 365 and Azure, as well as Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops.
Experience with open-source intelligence gathering and security investigation techniques.
Scripting skills and experience working with API endpoints such as Microsoft Graph.
Ability to navigate and effectively use ticketing and service management platforms such as ConnectWise or ServiceNow.
Experience with security remediation, change management, and security control processes.
Strong technical writing skills, including the ability to create security documentation, policies, and technical materials.
Ability to translate complex technical and security concepts into clear, user-friendly information for different audiences.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to work with management, technical teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
Ability to prioritize and perform effectively under pressure and within short deadlines.
Microsoft certification such as MCSE or an equivalent credential is a plus.
Security certifications such as CompTIA CySA+, Security+, Network+, ISC2 CCSP, or SSCP are advantageous.
