This role focuses on building and evolving modern software delivery platforms across cloud-native environments.
You will work extensively with Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and platform engineering practices.
The position combines automation, scalability, security, reliability, and developer experience.
You will help shape delivery platforms that enable engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate software efficiently.
The role also covers observability, secrets management, DevSecOps, governance, and secure access controls.
You will have significant autonomy in designing and structuring platforms rather than simply operating existing environments.
The environment is remote, technically challenging, and focused on continuous improvement and modern engineering practices.

The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving a secure and scalable software delivery platform. You will work across infrastructure, automation, cloud services, Kubernetes, observability, and developer enablement.

  • Structure, evolve, and maintain the software delivery platform and its different environments.
  • Design and administer Microsoft Azure solutions, including AKS, App Services, networking, identity, and governance.
  • Create, evolve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
  • Define and implement deployment, rollback, and delivery automation strategies.
  • Provision and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Operate and improve containerized environments and Kubernetes platforms, particularly Azure/AKS.
  • Implement and evolve Backstage, including the developer portal, service catalog, and templates.
  • Implement and improve observability across logs, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
  • Manage secrets and sensitive information securely using Azure Key Vault.
  • Integrate DevSecOps practices throughout development and delivery pipelines.
  • Implement access controls, security scanning within pipelines, and audit mechanisms.
  • Promote Platform Engineering and Developer Experience practices across engineering teams.
  • Contribute to the evolution of internal developer platforms and cloud-native architectures.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a senior DevOps or Platform Engineering professional with strong Azure expertise and the ability to independently design and structure modern delivery platforms. You should combine hands-on technical skills with an understanding of security, reliability, automation, and developer experience.

  • Strong professional experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • Practical experience with AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Azure App Services, networking, identity, and governance.
  • Experience working with containers and orchestrated environments.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
  • Knowledge of deployment and rollback strategies.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Bicep.
  • Experience with observability tools and practices, including Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or Datadog.
  • Knowledge of Azure Key Vault and secure credential and secrets management.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps, including pipeline security, access control, and auditing.
  • Seniority and autonomy to design and structure platforms rather than simply operate existing environments.
  • Practical experience with Backstage, particularly Developer Portal implementation, service catalogs, and templates, is desirable.
  • Previous experience building or evolving an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) is a plus.
  • Microsoft AZ-400 certification is desirable.
  • Microsoft AZ-104 certification is desirable.
  • Experience working in regulated environments such as banks, fintechs, insurers, or payment institutions is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud-native architecture, microservices, and highly available environments is desirable.
  • Experience promoting Platform Engineering and Developer Experience (DevEx) best practices is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and technical decision-making skills.
