We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) to lead enterprise imaging technology across a large, nationwide outpatient imaging network of approximately 180 centers. In this senior leadership role, you will oversee the strategy, governance, performance, and evolution of critical imaging platforms, including PACS, Vendor Neutral Archives (VNA), and enterprise imaging solutions. You will drive large-scale technology transformations, strengthen system reliability and security, and optimize clinical workflows to support exceptional patient care. Working closely with executive leadership, physicians, clinical teams, and technology partners, you will align imaging investments with long-term organizational objectives. You will also champion innovation through automation, artificial intelligence, and next-generation imaging technologies. This is an opportunity to shape enterprise-wide imaging strategy while leading high-performing teams in a dynamic, growth-oriented healthcare environment.

  • Lead enterprise imaging strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive long-term strategy for PACS, VNA, enterprise imaging platforms, image exchange technologies, and related systems, ensuring alignment with clinical priorities, operational needs, and organizational growth.
  • Oversee imaging infrastructure and performance: Ensure the availability, scalability, security, reliability, and efficiency of enterprise imaging systems supporting high-volume diagnostic imaging operations across approximately 180 outpatient centers.
  • Drive technology transformation: Lead complex implementations, system upgrades, platform migrations, acquisitions, integrations, new-center deployments, and enterprise-wide imaging modernization initiatives.
  • Establish governance and operational excellence: Define and maintain technology standards, governance frameworks, performance metrics, cybersecurity controls, and disaster recovery strategies to improve service quality, resilience, and operational consistency.
  • Optimize clinical workflows: Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, clinical teams, and operational leaders to improve imaging workflows, physician productivity, system usability, and the overall patient experience.
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships: Oversee technology vendors, service providers, and strategic partnerships, ensuring contractual accountability, service excellence, effective performance management, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Champion innovation and emerging technologies: Evaluate and implement advanced imaging capabilities, automation tools, AI-enabled applications, and emerging healthcare technologies that improve efficiency, scalability, and clinical outcomes.
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams: Coach, mentor, and develop PACS and imaging informatics professionals, establish clear performance expectations, provide constructive feedback, recognize achievements, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee budgets and technology investments: Manage operational performance, budgets, vendor expenditures, and strategic initiatives within the assigned area, ensuring responsible resource allocation and measurable business value.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships: Work closely with IT, cybersecurity, compliance, radiology leadership, clinical operations, human resources, and executive stakeholders to deliver enterprise-wide objectives.
  • Support organizational expansion: Provide imaging technology leadership for acquisitions, new facility openings, system integrations, and other strategic growth initiatives.
  • Deliver measurable results: Within the first 6–18 months, improve system availability, reliability, user satisfaction, governance, and operational metrics while advancing modernization initiatives and strengthening enterprise imaging capabilities.
