As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer, you will work at the intersection of software architecture, product development, and customer collaboration to solve complex technical challenges. You will partner directly with strategic customers to design and implement scalable solutions while contributing to the evolution of a core SaaS platform. Combining hands-on full-stack engineering with technical consulting, you will turn customer needs into reliable, reusable product capabilities. You will work across frontend, backend, integrations, and infrastructure, ensuring performance, maintainability, and scalability. This role offers the opportunity to influence product direction, modernize commercial insurance workflows through AI, and help establish engineering best practices in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
You will take ownership of customer-facing technical initiatives while ensuring that the solutions developed contribute to the long-term strength of the core platform. Your responsibilities will include:
-
Lead the design, development, and implementation of new features for the core SaaS platform, prioritizing reusable capabilities over customer-specific solutions.
-
Work across the full technology stack, from database query optimization and API development to building intuitive user interfaces.
-
Design and deliver production-ready integrations and workflows that address complex customer requirements.
-
Lead technical workshops with customer stakeholders to understand business needs and define future-state architecture and solutions.
-
Write high-quality, type-safe, maintainable code using TypeScript and modern React and Next.js development patterns.
-
Identify recurring customer challenges and translate them into scalable product features in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
-
Prevent unnecessary customization by recognizing common requirements and incorporating them into the platform's core technical direction.
-
Contribute to continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), testing, and performance monitoring to maintain reliable and stable releases.
-
Take end-to-end ownership of deployments, proactively identifying technical bottlenecks and resolving issues.
-
Collaborate with customers as a technical partner while remaining accountable for delivery and implementation outcomes.
-
Mentor engineering teammates and promote best practices that improve code quality, collaboration, and overall team performance.

A high degree of autonomy, initiative, and ownership, including the ability to identify problems and deliver solutions without waiting for detailed instructions.
