Project & Program ManagementPortfolio Manager

The QA Portfolio Manager will lead quality assurance strategy and execution across a diverse portfolio of independently developed video games, ensuring each title meets high-quality standards and platform certification requirements before release. This role oversees external QA partners across functional, compatibility, compliance, and localization testing, aligning testing plans with production milestones and release schedules. Working closely with developers, production teams, and publishing stakeholders, you will manage vendor relationships, budgets, and testing resources across multiple concurrent projects. You will also evaluate test results, prioritize quality risks, and help drive critical release-readiness decisions. Combining strategic oversight with hands-on testing when needed, you will provide actionable feedback and establish scalable QA processes. This is an opportunity to influence the player experience across a varied game portfolio in a collaborative, fast-moving, remote environment.

  • Define and maintain QA strategies, standards, and testing approaches tailored to each game's genre, platforms, development stage, and risk profile.

  • Manage external QA vendors across functional testing (FQA), compliance testing (CQA), localization testing (LQA), and compatibility testing, including vendor evaluation, onboarding, capacity planning, and performance monitoring.

  • Scope QA needs against production schedules and developer milestones, coordinating vendor engagements, Statements of Work (SOWs), quotes, timelines, and contract end dates.

  • Oversee QA vendor budgets, purchase orders, invoices, and cost variances to ensure services remain aligned with approved spending.

  • Act as the primary QA contact for external development teams, coordinating build and patch schedules with vendor testing cycles.

  • Conduct hands-on testing when necessary, verify bug fixes, assess issue severity, and produce clear, actionable bug reports.

  • Deliver detailed gameplay feedback informed by comparable titles and current market standards.

  • Review and prioritize vendor test results, coordinate bug triage and resolution with developers, and contribute to milestone acceptance and release-readiness decisions in partnership with Production.

  • Provide data-driven reporting on game quality, development progress, emerging risks, and overall project health to production teams and leadership.

  • Track certification and compliance requirements across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam, and mobile storefronts, ensuring testing plans support submission timelines.

  • Maintain an up-to-date overview of vendor capabilities, specialties, rates, and availability, resolving escalations and assigning appropriate partners to each title and testing phase.

  • Develop and improve QA documentation, test plans, bug-tracking workflows, and reporting templates that support a growing portfolio of games and development partners.
