Quick Summary
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps.
This role leads complex cloud transformation initiatives focused on migrating VMware-based datacenter workloads to AWS.
You will own architecture, migration strategy, governance, and technical execution across large-scale transformation programs.
The position combines deep AWS expertise with VMware migration, infrastructure automation, modernization, and emerging Agentic AI capabilities.
You will assess infrastructure and application environments, define migration strategies, and establish scalable AWS landing zones and migration roadmaps.
The role also provides technical leadership to architects and engineering teams while partnering with executives and technical stakeholders.
You will help accelerate migration through AI-powered workflows, automated validation, dependency analysis, and intelligent migration planning.
This is an opportunity to shape cloud architecture standards and deliver resilient, secure, and operationally effective AWS environments.
- Lead the end-to-end migration of VMware-based datacenter workloads to AWS, using Agentic AI-driven migration solutions and providing technical direction throughout the transformation.
- Lead infrastructure and application discovery using tools such as Matilda, AWS Discovery, Device42, or similar platforms, assessing servers, applications, databases, storage, and network dependencies for AWS readiness.
- Analyze infrastructure inventory, utilization, business criticality, risks, and remediation requirements, and apply the AWS 6R framework—Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Re-Architect, Retire, and Retain—to determine appropriate migration approaches.
- Define target AWS landing zone architecture aligned with enterprise security, networking, and governance standards, while developing migration roadmaps, migration waves, sizing recommendations, and cost models.
- Design AWS infrastructure solutions using services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, FSx, EFS, Route 53, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, API Gateway, and Lambda, ensuring scalability, resiliency, security, and operational excellence.
- Lead migration execution using Agentic AI platforms, Claude, and AWS AI services, including the design of AI agents, skills, workflows, and automation tools that accelerate migration activities.
