This is a senior agency leadership role responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial success of major client accounts.
You’ll serve as a trusted senior partner to clients while leading cross-functional agency teams and ensuring high-quality delivery across multiple accounts.
The role combines client relationship management, business strategy, financial oversight, product and market expertise, and new business development.
You’ll help translate client vision into effective agency solutions while identifying opportunities for account growth and broader business expansion.
Success requires strong leadership, commercial judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate complex client and agency environments.
You’ll also mentor account teams, influence senior stakeholders, and help create an environment focused on collaboration, accountability, innovation, and sustainable growth.
This is a fully remote U.S. opportunity suited to an experienced agency leader with significant pharmaceutical or healthcare experience.
- Lead assigned client accounts as the primary business leader, overseeing account strategy, delivery, client satisfaction, and overall agency performance.
- Direct account teams in managing day-to-day tactics while providing guidance on high-profile initiatives, strategic deliverables, and new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with director-level and senior client stakeholders, including regular communication to identify opportunities, risks, and issues early.
- Serve as a trusted senior advisor who can engage confidently with client stakeholders at all levels and represent the agency perspective effectively.
- Oversee forecasting, monthly and annual revenue recognition, pricing, revisions, and financial planning for assigned accounts.
- Monitor account financial performance, identify revenue opportunities or risks, and communicate changes promptly to senior leadership.
- Ensure teams understand the financial implications of projects and accounts and provide guidance on appropriate next steps when issues arise.
- Maintain deep knowledge of clients’ products, disease areas, markets, competitors, technologies, treatment landscapes, clinicians, influencers, and relevant professional societies.
- Provide strategic insights that contribute to the development of client and agency strategies.
- Share relevant best practices, market intelligence, and successful approaches across teams and accounts.
- Identify opportunities to expand business within existing client departments, divisions, and related areas of the organization.
- Participate actively in business development initiatives, presentations, proposals, pitches, and agency responses.
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior industry executives to support future business opportunities and participate in relevant networking activities.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration across related business units and help close capability or service gaps.
- Mentor and develop account team members while encouraging participation in business development and broader agency initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration, resolve interdepartmental issues, and help ensure smooth daily operations.
- Provide leadership during challenging situations, encourage open and constructive conversations, and support issue resolution and business growth.
- Represent the agency’s point of view at senior levels within client organizations and advocate for solutions that support both client and agency objectives.
Requirements

- Approximately 13 years of agency experience, ideally with a strong track record managing and growing $1M+ pharmaceutical or healthcare accounts.
- Significant pharmaceutical, healthcare, or related agency experience.
- Proven experience managing complex client relationships and successfully leading large or high-profile accounts.
- Strong understanding of healthcare products, disease states, treatment landscapes, clinicians, influencers, professional organizations, competitors, and emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated financial management experience, including forecasting, revenue recognition, pricing, budgeting, and account profitability.
- Strong business development skills, including identifying organic growth opportunities, developing senior-level relationships, and contributing to pitches and proposals.
- Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience motivating multidisciplinary teams and developing account talent.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage senior client and agency stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to connect business, client, financial, and market considerations.
- High attention to detail combined with flexibility, initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet-based tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and manage complex issues in a fast-paced agency environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and/or internationally, including overnight stays, as required.
