Network Engineer

Dignitas Technologies, a By Light company, offers a wide range of services in the military modeling, simulation, and training (MS&T) industry from research efforts advancing simulation technologies to large acquisition contracts. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams, external suppliers, and government stakeholders and involves occasional travel to customer sites or supplier locations. A hybrid work environment is possible when not required to be on-site for customer meetings. The program reserves the right to require on-site work if program execution and success dictates.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 9:00a a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

• →Designs and implements self-healing networks
• →Documents the network configuration including documentation of maintenance procedures for the network.
• →Troubleshoots routing, switching and multicast faults
• →Configures and troubleshoots RADIUS, SYSLOG, NTP, OSPF, Auto-RP
• →Designs and monitors network load balancing, route cost patterns, overall system health, etc. and advises on need for potential upgrades or reconfigurations
• →Identifies the need to upgrade or enhance network component capabilities
• →Hardens networking infrastructure as appropriate, balancing customer Availability/Integrity/Confidentiality needs.
• →Resolves IAVA/STIG findings as appropriate, providing proper documentation and/or justification to A&A personnel
• →Provides on-site technical and operational support in the installation and operation of any/all telecommunications equipment
• →Conducts site surveys to determine feasibility of equipment installations (e.g. telecommunications, electrical, temperature/humidity, cleanliness, space/weight, maintainability, logistical support)
• →Performs other duties as required
• →Mentors other IT personnel as needed

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Must meet DoD 8570 IAT II requirements
• Experience designing and implementing self-healing networks
• Expert understanding of Cisco and/or Juniper technologies
• Expert understanding of networking protocols
• Experience in cross-platform networking environments
• Experience in setting up workstation, server, switch, and router configurations
• Expert level experience in the configuration & operation of firewalls.

• DoD Active Secret Clearance or ability to get a clearance
