Senior Highway Engineer

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join our Highway & Rail Team in Burlington, MA; Norwell, MA; Boston, MA; or Providence, RI. In this key role, you’ll provide technical leadership across significant transportation projects, guide and mentor developing engineers, and help deliver thoughtful, high-quality solutions that improve the safety, performance, and longevity of our transportation infrastructure.

• →Lead the technical execution of complex engineering designs, technical reports, and specifications for highway and rail projects
• →Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues across multidiscipline transportation projects
• →Lead advanced technical projects, collaborating with other engineering departments and project management staff to deliver sustainable solutions
• →Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with project milestones, ensuring projects are completed within budget and scheduling restraints
• →Guide and mentor junior engineering staff, including providing technical reviews and support
• →Deliver technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients, public, and regulatory agencies

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience required
• Highway/roadway design experience required; hydraulic design experience preferred
• MassDOT design experience required
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices
• Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, etc.)
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

$115,000 - $140,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
