Primary Location: United States (US) - Iowa - Ankeny Function: Product Engineering (CA) Title: Engineer, Software - 121193 Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position ## Your Responsibilities As a Software Engineer for Crop Care Software for Ag Engineering located in Ankeny, Iowa, you will be a member of an embedded development scrum team working with multiple stakeholders to build and implement functionality for self-propelled application equipment. In addition, you will: * Design, develop, and test software for a broad spectrum of Deere equipment functionality * Operate in a scrum team environment on varying projects with direction from a project lead(s). * Provide product support of the system(s). VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position ## What Skills You Need * Experience in embedded software development with experience in design, development, and testing * Software development in C, C++, C#, or other scripting programming languages * Understand real-time operating system concepts * Excellent communication and teamwork skills * Ability and experience working in a self-directed mode * Strong demonstrated problem-solving skills * Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% (both domestically and internationally) ## What Makes You Stand Out * Experience with Agile software development methodologies * Experience with CAN communication protocols such as J1939 and ISO 11783 * Experience with control system design * Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems in an automotive or agricultural setting * Experience with AI augmented software development ## Education Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following: * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science What You'll Get At John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
