To deliver safe and effective Emergency Nursing Care as a SANC (South African Nursing Council) Registered Professional Nurse, ensuring effective patient assessment, planning and coordination of patient care. Maintain compliance with legal and clinical standards within the multidisciplinary team.

· Work strictly within the SANC defined Scope of Practice. (R686 and R2598)

· Initiate and support emergency treatment including resuscitations according to Scope of Practice and Protocols.

· Coordinate patient care within the multidisciplinary team and act as a patient advocate.

· Adhere to legal, health, safety, infection control and clinical standards.

· Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and resource management.

· Provide supervision, guidance and support to staff within the unit.

(Educational Qualifications & Experience)

  • Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Trauma experience or Trauma Nursing qualification are essential.
  • Minimum 1-2 years clinical experience in a Trauma or Outpatient setting.
  • Competence in patient assessment, clinical decision making and emergency intervention.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays and adapt to working in other areas of the hospital when needed.

  • Able to prioritise and work well under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organisational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
