Quality Coordinator
Quick Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Coordinator to support and monitor the
implementation of quality assurance systems within our healthcare facility. The successful candidate will
ensure compliance with regulatory standards, drive continuous quality improvement, and promote patient
safety and excellence in care.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the hospital's Quality Management System.
- Ensure alignment with national health regulations, accreditation standards (e.g., DOH, OHSC), and internal policies and ensure the hospital meets statutory requirements and licensing conditions.
- Update policies and procedures in line with changing regulatory requirements and monitor adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) across departments.
· Develop and oversee patient safety programs and initiatives.
- Monitor adverse events, incidents, and near-misses, implement corrective and preventive actions and promote a culture of safety and incident reporting.
- Monitor clinical indicators such as infection rates, mortality, readmissions, and patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to improve standards of care.
- Support evidence-based practices and clinical governance.
- Plan and execute internal quality audits (clinical and non-clinical). Track audit findings and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Develop dashboards and reports on quality indicators.
- Analyse data trends to identify areas of improvement.
- Ensure documentation complies with legal and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a central document control system.
- Provide training on quality standards, patient safety, and compliance.
- Conduct orientation programs for new staff on quality practices.
- Support departments in implementing quality improvement tools and methodologies.
- Collect, analyse, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare quality reports for hospital leadership and governing bodies.
- Utilize data for strategic decision-making and performance improvements.
- Lead the Quality Improvement Committee and related subcommittees.
- Coordinate quality-related activities across departments.
- Advise senior management on quality and patient safety matters.
- Support strategic planning aligned with quality goals.
Requirements
~1 min read(Educational Qualifications & Experience)
- Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
Preferably have at least 5-7 years' experience in the clinical setting, valid APC.
Must have at least 3nyears' experience working in Quality management.
- Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment.
