Sr. Accountant &Team Lead

We're looking for a Senior Accountant & Team Lead to join our healthcare finance department during an active restructuring phase. In health systems and clinical organizations, senior accounting roles carry significant operational weight — finance teams directly support regulatory compliance, grant reporting, cost center management, and the financial integrity required for audits. This person won't just close the books; they'll stabilize the team, establish repeatable processes, and serve as the go-to resource for both junior accountants and department leadership. What You'll Do Serve as the day-to-day lead of the accounting team — assigning work, reviewing output, and maintaining quality standards across all deliverables Oversee the full accounting cycle: journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end and year-end close, and financial statement preparation Prepare and review financial narratives and variance analysis reports for leadership and operational stakeholders Act as primary liaison between the finance department and clinical/administrative teams — translating financial data into operational insights Identify gaps in current processes and implement SOPs to improve accuracy, efficiency, and audit readiness Support internal and external audit preparation; ensure documentation is organized and defensible Mentor and develop junior accountants through regular feedback, training, and hands-on guidance Assist in budget preparation, cost center reporting, and forecasting as needed Requirements What You'll Bring 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience; 1–2+ years in a lead, senior, or supervisory capacity Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close cycles and deliver financial statements on deadline Advanced Excel proficiency — PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and complex formulas Experience in healthcare, hospital, or clinical finance environment is strongly preferred Experience with Meditec or comparable healthcare ERP/accounting platforms is a plus Strong communicator — able to present financial information clearly to non-finance audiences Proactive, organized, and comfortable operating with a degree of ambiguity during transition periods Available Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; flexibility during peak periods and audits Benefits Benefits $18.00/hr 6-month probationary period 401-type retirement plan with $0.50 employer match per $1.00 based on tenure Medical plan with employer contribution + voluntary benefits at group rates Parking available with free shuttle service to/from facility
