Data Scientist

Kalman & Company is seeking a highly motivated, performance driven individual with strong data analysis experience to work closely with our Department of Warfare (DoW) clients. Successful candidates will have excellent communication, quantitative, research, and analytical skills and the ability to principally contribute to several of the largest and most significant studies in Kalman’s portfolios. This position will require occasional meeting attendance in Arlington, VA. As part of our team, you’ll help our government clients make well-informed, data-driven decisions on some of the most impactful challenges facing the DoW. The salary range for this position is $120K/yr-$140K/yr, depending on the candidate's commensurate experience. This is a contingent position and tied to a government proposal.

As a Kalman Analyst, you will collaborate with military leaders, engineers, developers, technicians, logisticians, and financial managers to collect, analyze, and communicate information that will help ensure the success of programs critical to the United States DoW and our allies.

• →Work directly with stakeholders to understand their requirements and apply data analytics tools and methods to streamline monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables.
• →Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Python, R, Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, and/or Word.
• →Develop and manage organization-wide business intelligence solutions.
• →Create or modify existing report assets.
• →Document data profiling and quality assurance results, data dictionaries, and analytical findings
• →Use data to create predictive models and trend analyses.
• →Collaborate with colleagues to define data collection strategies and establish data frameworks.
• →Collect, audit, compile, and validate data from multiple sources.
• →Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques to produce as-needed reports to meet client and/or business needs.
• →Proactively integrate new technologies for more advanced analytics and automate business processes including and not limited to Power Flow, PowerApps, AI, and Machine Learning
• →Effectively communicate analysis to government stakeholders

• US Citizenship.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a Quantitative Field (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Computer Science, etc.)
• 5+ years of data analytics experience
• Knowledge of DoW acquisition, financial, and PPBE processes and experience supporting DoW decision analysis efforts.
• Strong quantitative skills with ability to critically analyze client requirements, disparate collections of datasets and market intelligence and synthesize all inputs in into coherent, insightful cost deliverables, findings, and recommendations.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to contribute effectively to working groups through oral and written communication.
• Comprehensive understanding of current principles, practices, and techniques of Systems Analysis, Business Analysis, and Business Intelligence.
• Skilled in using data analytics tools such as Access, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, etc.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

• Experience supporting the USAF.
• Experience developing data models in Power BI and managing distributed reports, dashboards, and apps in Power BI Service.
• Competence in developing and maintaining data pipelines, with knowledge of ETL processes and frameworks.
• Experience with current computing technologies and software applications such as specialized Business Intelligence software, SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Access, SharePoint, and other database applications.
