Pharmacy Technician I - Supply Chain Home Infusion

• →Prepares medications and supplies for dispensing: After passing an initial competency, independently prepares medications including basic sterile compounds and patient supplies with accuracy.
• →Distributes medications, supplies, and stock items: Accurately pulls medications and supplies utilizing the established workflow management system. Accurately stocks medications in ADS machines, as applicable. Uses CSM accurately if required. Maintains distribution records as required.
• →Maintains Pharmacy Inventory: Restocks pharmacy inventory in appropriate quantities from designated back up areas. Ensures rotation of stock and inventory. Pulls outdates. Receives/unpacks drug orders from wholesaler, maintaining appropriate inventory records.
• →Operates pharmacy computer systems: Accurately utilizes basic computer programs to accomplish daily tasks.
• →Compliance and recordkeeping: Follows departmental and hospital policies. Completes required documentation associated with daily work, meeting regulatory standards.
• →Patient Care: Provides courteous, professional service when assisting patients, caregivers, and staff. Approaches daily work with a patient first mindset.
• →Medication Safety: Practices medication safety basics such as barcode scanning and double-checking labels; promptly reports discrepancies to pharmacists or leaders. Reports safety events in Health System reporting tool.
• →Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

• High School Graduate or GED.

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR equivalent National Pharmacy Technician Certification.

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Kansas locations: CPhT required by first board renewal.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Missouri locations: none
• Pharmacy Technician Registration - State Board of Pharmacy Kansas and/or Missouri - per work state upon Hire
• Technician must maintain certification on an ongoing basis and complete all continuing education requirements.
