KBR Abu Dhabi PMC Team is currently seeking experienced professionals for the position listed below in support of a major Offshore Project. The role will be based at either the Client's Office or the Contractor's Office in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The Specialist Process Engineer will provide specialist technical expertise, engineering assurance and oversight of process engineering activities for a major ADNOC Offshore project.
The role will review and monitor EPC Contractor process engineering deliverables, ensure technical integrity of the process design, resolve complex technical issues, and coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines throughout project execution.
Responsibilities

· Review and monitor process engineering work performed by EPC Contractors and engineering consultants.
· Review and validate key process engineering deliverables, including:
o Design Basis
o Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
o Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
o Heat & Material Balances
o Process Datasheets
o Process Calculations
o Equipment Sizing
o Line Sizing
o Relief and Blowdown Calculations
o Cause & Effect / Shutdown requirements
o Process Control Philosophies
· Perform or review process simulations for upstream/offshore oil and gas facilities. Process simulation using tools such as Aspen HYSYS and PRO-II, along with Heat & Material Balance generation, is reflected in specialist process engineering experience within ADNOC Offshore PMC work.
· Review process equipment sizing and associated process datasheets.
· Review process requirements for separators, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers and associated production facilities.
· Review relief load calculations, PSV sizing, relief and blowdown philosophies, and related process safety documentation. These activities are specifically reflected in ADNOC Offshore PMC process engineering experience.
· Review and update PFDs and P&IDs as required during project development.
· Review control philosophy, shutdown philosophy and Cause & Effect requirements.
· Participate in HAZID, HAZOP and other project technical/safety reviews as required.
· Review EPC Contractor technical queries, deviations and proposed engineering changes within the process discipline.
· Coordinate with Mechanical, Piping, Pipeline, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, Civil/Structural and other engineering disciplines.
· Review vendor documentation and provide specialist process engineering input for package equipment.
· Identify process design risks and support development of technically appropriate solutions.
· Ensure process engineering deliverables are suitable for subsequent procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
· Provide technical support during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up as required.
· Support troubleshooting and resolution of process-related technical issues.
· Provide technical guidance to Process Engineers and other members of the multidisciplinary project team.
· Ensure lessons learned and engineering best practices are incorporated into process design.
Candidates should ideally possess strong offshore experience involving systems such as:
· Oil & Gas Separation
· Gas Compression
· Gas Dehydration / Treatment
· Production and Test Separation
· Produced Water Treatment
· Water Injection
· Chemical Injection
· Fuel Gas Systems
· Flare / Relief / Blowdown Systems
· Closed and Open Drain Systems
· Utility Systems
· Offshore Process Modules and Packages
· Process Safety / Emergency Shutdown Interfaces
Requirements
~2 min read· Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
· Extensive Process Engineering experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
· Strong experience in offshore Oil & Gas EPC / PMC projects.
· Proven experience covering FEED and Detailed Engineering. A public profile for a Process Specialist Engineer working in an ADNOC Offshore PMC environment describes expertise spanning conceptual design, basic engineering, FEED, detailed engineering and PMC roles.
· Significant experience in process design and technical review of offshore production facilities.
· Previous ADNOC / ADNOC Offshore project experience is strongly preferred for this requirement.
· Strong working knowledge of process simulation tools such as Aspen HYSYS / PRO-II or equivalent.
· Strong knowledge of process engineering calculations, equipment sizing, PFDs, P&IDs and process philosophies.
· Good understanding of process safety, relief and depressurization systems.
· Experience reviewing contractor and vendor engineering deliverables.
· Strong multidisciplinary coordination and interface management skills.
· Excellent analytical, technical problem-solving and communication abilities.
