Flight School Manager (On Site) (Nags Head, NC)

• Daily operations of flight school 
• Direction and future growth 
• Work closely with outlying locations and Recreation Manager 
• Develop & execute new training programs. 
• Maintain excellent relationship with park staff, USHPA, PASA, RRRG, FAA,    other operators and pilots at KHK flying sites and schools 
• Maintain & build excellent customer relationships. 
• Create and monitor sales budgets for flight school 
• Create and enforce Flight School policy and procedures 
• Enforce all KHK policies and procedures. 
• Help develop and execute the departments' marketing plan. 
• Develop and execute an operating, staffing and payroll plan. 
• Make specific recommendations on pricing. 
• Make advertising recommendations. 
• Develop & implement appropriate training materials, aids, and programs for customers and staff. 
• Keep sales statistics on key products and report on statistics. 
• Supervise school operations day to day. 
• Do hill or tandem training and perform whatever functions are required for an efficient operation. 
• Maintain all equipment and keep maintenance logs. 
• Sales of lessons, equipment and accessories. 
• Close out cash register, make deposits and turn in close out paperwork daily. 
• Responsible for hiring, training, firing. 
• Work closely with tandem, Beaufort, Morningside and other outlying programs so there is seamless interaction between the programs. 
• During off season, develop and implement training programs and department initiatives. 
• Comply with PASA and insurance requirements 
• Help administer KHK Waiver auditing program 
• Expected to work a 6 day week mid June to mid September. 

• Four-year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• There are supervisory responsibilities involved with this position. This position directly supervises the hill instructors.  Generally, this position supervises 2-20 people. (this number is subject to change)

• The work environment for this position is generally an indoor controlled environment. Noise level is moderate; expect noises like office machines and light traffic. 
• May be requested to work overtime and weekends during the company’s in-season time period.

• May be requested to drive company vehicle to other locations.  

• About 1/3 of one's time will be spent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. One-third to two-thirds of one's time will be spent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching. About 2/3 of one's time will be spent using one's hands to finger, handle or feel, as well as talking or hearing. Expect to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basis. Vision required: close, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Some other physical demands come from continuous computer work, cash register work, sales floor work, events work, and mail order work.
