Kimball Equipment is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Shop Service Technician to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and prepare crushing, screening, and aggregate equipment within the shop. This role supports field operations by ensuring equipment is properly inspected, serviced, and ready for deployment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on crushing, screening, and aggregate equipment in the shop.
- →Disassemble, inspect, rebuild, and reassemble components and equipment to manufacturer specifications.
- →Prepare new and used equipment for delivery, including setup, testing, and quality checks.
- →Conduct detailed equipment inspections and document findings.
- →Complete accurate service reports, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
- →Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
- →Operate shop equipment such as forklifts, cranes, welders, and other tools safely.
- →Work closely with Parts and Service teams to ensure timely job completion.
- →Assist Field Service Technicians with troubleshooting support and occasional field work if needed.
- →Follow all company, MSHA, and OSHA safety procedures and guidelines.
Requirements
~1 min read- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.
- 2+ years of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic repair experience (heavy equipment industry preferred).
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in tear-downs and rebuilds.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in a shop environment.
