At Klaviyo, we value the unique backgrounds, experiences and perspectives each Klaviyo (we call ourselves Klaviyos) brings to our workplace each and every day. We believe everyone deserves a fair shot at success and appreciate the experiences each person brings beyond the traditional job requirements. If you’re a close but not exact match with the description, we hope you’ll still consider applying.
This is a 6-month (January 4th–June 25th, 2027) paid co-op experience out of our Boston, MA headquarters. Co-ops are required to be onsite 5 days per week in our Boston, MA office.
The Product Manager Co-op is built for those who want to be in the room where product decisions actually get made, not just watching from the sidelines. You'll sit at the intersection of product, engineering, data, and AI, working shoulder to shoulder with Product, Engineering, and Design to find real customer problems and work towards solutions for them. No prior product management experience is required!
This is not a shadow-and-observe co-op. You'll work directly with engineers, get your hands dirty in APIs and data, and use AI-assisted tools to prototype and move fast, because that's how we actually build here. And we mean it when we say this isn't an "AI-curious" role: we want people who are already building with these tools every day, not people who think it sounds cool.
- Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers to discover, define, build, test, and launch product features
- Talk directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand real problems and turn those insights into clear product requirements
- Sit in on technical discussions with Engineering and build an understanding of system architecture, APIs, data models, and integrations
- Build prototypes, and write, test, and ship code to explore ideas and validate assumptions
- Use AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot to build repeatable workflows and agents that speed up discovery and delivery, critically evaluating what they produce
- Define and analyze product metrics to understand adoption, performance, and customer outcomes, and use that data in prioritization and roadmap conversations
- Communicate decisions, progress, risks, and learnings clearly to people across the team
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or an adjacent field, like Engineering, Math/Statistics, Data Science, or Information Systems, with a graduation date of May 2028
- If you're not coming from a CS background, you can still clear the technical bar by showing you can use AI tools like Claude Code to build something end-to-end, even without deep coding knowledge of your own
- Familiar with APIs, databases, and data structures, or working toward that fluency through AI-assisted tools
- Hands-on, not just curious, with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot, including prototyping, debugging, and building small agentic workflows
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to break ambiguous problems into manageable pieces
- Genuinely curious about customers and how people actually use technology
- A clear written and verbal communicator who can translate between customer needs, product requirements, and technical tradeoffs
- A bias toward action, and real enthusiasm for building and shipping things
- Have built software, technical prototypes, or AI-enabled applications outside of class, and can walk us through your thought process
- Come from a software engineering or product marketing background
- Have experience with React, SQL, cloud platforms like AWS, or other modern AI development tools for coding, prototyping, or workflow automation
