Interested in payroll, HR administration and compliant reporting? We are looking for a Junior Payroll and HR Assistant to join our Tax Team in Bucharest. You will support client payroll and personnel administration processes, helping ensure accurate reporting and compliance with Romanian labour and tax regulations.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Monthly payroll processing: Support end-to-end monthly payroll activities for KPMG clients by collecting, validating and entering payroll data in payroll systems and REVISAL, and assisting with monthly forms and reports in line with Romanian legislation.
- →Regulatory reporting & authorities’ liaison: Support compliant reporting to financial, labour and other authorities by preparing the required documentation and assisting with submissions related to payroll and HR.
- →Contractual arrangements & personnel administration: Set up and manage employment documentation for clients’ staff, including preparing contracts, addenda and termination documents in line with labour legislation and client policies.
- →HR records & databases: Maintain accurate HR records and databases by updating employee data, ensuring proper archiving and keeping personnel files complete and current.
- →Employee support & documentation: Provide HR and payroll-related support to employees, answering basic queries and preparing requested documents such as employment certificates and salary statements.
- →Reporting to clients: Prepare recurring and ad-hoc HR/payroll reports, compiling, checking and delivering information in agreed formats and within established deadlines.
You are at the beginning of your career in HR and payroll, with a strong interest in people, data accuracy and compliance, and you enjoy organizing information, working with regulations and supporting employees.

- Eager to learn: You are willing to deepen your knowledge of payroll, labour legislation and tax compliance.
- University degree (e.g. in economics, business, HR, or related field).
- Experience in personnel administration and/or HR administration (around 1 year) is a plus, but strong motivation and willingness to learn are equally valued.
- Knowledge of labour legislation is considered an advantage.
- Good IT skills, particularly:
- Excel – for data entry, basic analysis and reporting.
- Word – for preparing and formatting HR documents.
- Outlook – for professional communication and coordination.
- Interest or initial exposure to:
- HR databases and personnel files management.
- Payroll systems and/or the REVISAL platform (training will be provided if needed).
- Strong English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Able to communicate clearly and tactfully with clients’ employees and internal stakeholders.
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Previous internship or junior role in HR, payroll or tax-related services.
- Familiarity with Romanian labour and tax-related regulations affecting payroll and personnel administration.
- Interest in developing a long-term career in tax, payroll or HR compliance.
