Staff Accountant
Location: Remote – Philippines (collaborating daily with the U.S. team)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, reconcile accounts, and support compliance with accounting standards. This is a mid-level role for someone who works well independently, communicates clearly across time zones, and takes ownership of the numbers. You'll partner daily with a U.S.-based finance team, so strong written communication and reliable overlap with U.S. business hours are important.

Key Responsibilities
- Financial recordkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and bank reconciliations.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Journal entries: Record and post journal entries, adjusting entries, and accruals to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Month-end and year-end close: Support closing processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of supporting documentation.
- Payroll and tax support: Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance with IRS and other regulatory requirements.
- Audit support: Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to accounting standards.
- Financial analysis: Analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Software and systems: Use accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems, and maintain strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus but not required.
- Technical skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
- Analytical skills: Ability to analyze financial data, reconcile accounts, and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Attention to detail: High level of accuracy in recording and reporting financial information.
- Communication: Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Time management: Able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize work effectively.
Work Setup and Collaboration
- Fully remote from the Philippines, working closely with the U.S.-based finance team.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.
- Consistent daily overlap with U.S. business hours for real-time collaboration.
