The Program Manager(PM) engages residents with the content and programming of Merci's Refuge and Magnolia House. The essential functions include program implementation and volunteer management. This position is a full-time position at 32-40 hours per week.
Qualifications: Applicant should have the following qualifications:
1. Demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in actions and attitudes, showing evidence of spiritual maturity.
2. Exhibits a strong commitment and dedication to the Gospel and to the sanctity of human life,
affirming life and never referring or advising a woman to have an abortion.
3. Display a readiness and willingness to share the Gospel in word and deed, engaging in spiritual
conversations and discipleship opportunities.
4. Provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, encouragement and direction for staff, volunteers and clients.
5. Agree with and uphold the LAPRC Mission, as well as all corporate statements and policies of LAPRC and Residential programming
6. Proficient use of computers and software to complete tasks.
7. Self-motivated; ability to carry out responsibilities independently.
8. Demonstrate the corporate values of Faith, Integrity, Excellence, Respect, and Compassion.
9. Spiritual and emotional maturity evidenced by established self-care practices, healthy conflict resolution and wise decision-making
11. Experience in a social service setting
12. Experience supervising, mentoring, or coaching individuals or groups (2 years preferred)
13. Experience and competency with working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. 14. Licensure: Valid driver’s license and insurability.
15. Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Family Services, Christian Ministry, or in a related field.
Program Implementation
- Implement the program content with the assistance of volunteers
- Maintain the schedule of classes and activities, filling gaps and cancellations quickly as appropriate
- Ensure the needed program spaces and materials are prepared and available
- Research and adapt program content to the changing needs of residents
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the program elements in achieving the mission and aims of the program
- Develop and implement the resident mentoring program, including mentor training and coaching
- Develop and implement a thoughtful spiritual discipleship pathway for residents, including an active partnership with local churches
- Assist in the resident screening and final decision-making process
- Assist in integrating new residents into the program
- Contribute to the evaluation of residents at 30-day reviews and phase reviews
- Ensure residents are engaged in community-building activities that combine recreation and intentional relational development skills
- Support residents in addressing interpersonal conflicts and personal challenges through active listening, self-reflection, assertive communication, and follow-up care.
- Share in providing weekly on-call coverage, monthly Saturday study hall coverage, and occasional overnight coverage if needed.
Volunteer Management
- Work with the AD to asses, train and mobilize volunteers based on their strengths and program needs
- Involve volunteers with as many aspects of program implementation as possible as is appropriate
- Provide coaching and encouragement to volunteers and support them in addressing concerns
- Assist in the annual evaluation of program volunteers
- Maintain cohesive communication across the team of staff and volunteers by gathering and sharing information about resident progress and needs
- Lead an active and engaging prayer team ministry for LAPRC Champaign ministries
General Administrative Responsibilities
1. Adhere to all of the Policies and Procedures of LAPRC and residential programs
2. Participate in the ongoing review and development of MR policies, procedures, and programming. 3. Operate within the board-approved budget for LAPRC and residential programs.
4. Participate in the evaluation of incoming applications and attend monthly meetings of the Intake Assessment Committee.
5. Participate in weekly staff meetings and report on resident well-being and progress. 6. Take part in continuing education and training as assigned by the DOCM.
7. Attend the major fundraising events for LAPRC
8. Attend all mandatory staff meetings (virtual and in person).
9. Other duties as assigned.
