Transporter | PRN

• Under the direction of the supervisor or lead person, transports patients and visitors of all ages to and from various clinics and nursing units within the hospital as requested.

• →Adheres to LCMH policies to properly identify patients using 2 patient identifiers.
• →Adheres to hand off communication policy.
• →Maintains patient safety by correctly securing patients on transfer device.
• →Utilizes proper body mechanics when transporting patients.
• →Knowledge of hospital/clinic layout and utilizes safest and most expedient route for patients delivery.
• →Maintains direct communication with the patient while transporting to ensure patient comfort and security.
• →Prioritizes transport requests.
• →Assists in mail collection and/or delivery when duties allow.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• CPR certified
• Basic computer skills.
• Effective communication skills, solid team player and a commitment to providing excellent patient service and professionalism.

• Work requires a variety of physical activities including standing and walking for long periods of time, bending, stooping, and lifting.
• The work environment may be physically confining.
• Visual acuity is required for a variety of specific activities.
• Must have normal hearing.
• Ability to do shift work as required on weekdays, weekends and holidays.
