Responsibilities

  • →Assists in the development, implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures which support the Hospital's mission, goals and objectives as requested by the Unit Director.
  • →Assists in the development of the annual departmental budget and operates within budgetary guidelines.
  • →Recommends and ensures appropriate staffing levels.
  • →Allocates resources according to priorities as requested by the Unit Director.
  • →Generates creative solutions and attention to detail.
  • →Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
  • →Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • →Develops alternative solutions.

  • →Assists the Director in ensuring that staff complies with mandatory education, licensure requirements, mandatory health requirements, etc.
  • →Routinely monitors staff performance and initiates appropriate corrective action/evaluation in a timely manner as directed.
  • →Provides ongoing monitoring of the quality of care, initiating audits in collaboration with the Unit Director.
  • →Maintains current knowledge of regulatory requirements and implements changes as appropriate in collaboration with Director of Quality Management and the Unit Director.
  • →Incorporates healthy workforce in daily practice

  • Graduate of School of Nursing
  • Current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or compact state license as Registered Nurse
  • BLS-CPR certified
  • ACLS and PALS certification required
  • Three years of clinical experience preferred along with a leadership component such being a Charge Nurse.

  • Work may require evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and/or a flexible schedule depending on the needs of the unit/department/service.
  • Requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations and conflict resolution..
