What you will be doing:

We are looking for a AI Application Engineer  with strong hands-on experience building modern web applications using React, Node.js, and TypeScript. The ideal candidate has a strong background in e-commerce platforms, event-driven architectures, and the development of high-performance, low-latency APIs.

This role will contribute to AI-driven software development initiatives, including AI agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and AI-assisted development workflows. Candidates should understand how these technologies work and be comfortable applying them to real-world software engineering problems.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant full-stack development experience.

• Strong hands-on experience with React.

• Strong backend development experience with Node.js.

• Advanced knowledge of TypeScript and modern JavaScript.

• Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and distributed services.

• Experience building low-latency, high-throughput APIs.

• Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing.

• Experience with messaging/event-streaming technologies such as Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, RabbitMQ, or similar.

• Experience designing scalable, distributed systems and microservices.

• Strong understanding of API performance, caching, concurrency, resiliency, and scalability.

• Professional experience working on e-commerce systems or platforms.

• Familiarity with e-commerce domains such as product catalog, inventory, pricing, shopping cart, checkout, orders, payments, customers, or fulfillment.

• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, code quality, and CI/CD.

• Familiarity with spec-driven development or contract-first approaches to software development.

• Experience using modern AI-assisted development tools and workflows.

• Understanding of AI agents, tool calling, LLM integrations, and agent orchestration.

• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and how it can connect AI agents to tools and data.

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with GraphQL.

• Experience with Kafka at scale.

Salary Range:

170,000 - 200,000 USD
