Pediatrician (Northside Houston, Texas)

• Perform assessments and provide treatment to clients of the clinic.
• Keep scheduled hours for extended clinic coverage during days, evenings, and weekends.
• Remain flexible with work hours according to the needs of clinic expansion.
• Meet or exceed productivity requirements set forth by the Chief Medical Officer.
• Develop and maintain clinical diagnostic and treatment protocols for pediatric treatment.
• Remain available by phone during scheduled hours for assistance as needed.
• Assist in the review and development of patient education materials.
• Provide supervision of health care students assigned to the clinic for educational purposes.
• Develop and maintain a program for clinical quality assurance.
• Supervise non-physician providers, including Licensed Therapists, Certified Nurse Practitioners, and Certified Physician Assistants regarding pediatric treatment.
• Attend staff meetings and committees as directed and punctually.
• Participate in the Performance Improvement Program.
• Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention, including FQHC-required voluntary family planning services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Medical Doctorate with current licensure.
• Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatrics.
• Provider shall obtain, maintain and participate in the Medicare and Medicaid Programs, workers compensation, other federal and state reimbursement programs, and the payment plan of any commercial insurer, health maintenance organization, preferred provider organization, accountable health plan, and other health benefit program requested by Legacy.
• Possess an interest in working with adolescents
• Uphold the Code of Ethics of their professional licensing entity.
• Must complete the minimum hours of continuing education to maintain professional license.
• Must maintain good standing with professional licensing board.
• Must demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to all populations served.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community, and the general public.
• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
• Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize
• Adept in decision making responsibilities
• Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
