Senior Mechanical Engineer

Join our Global Workplace Projects organization and help shape the mechanical infrastructure that supports LEGO manufacturing facilities around the world. In this role, you will provide mechanical engineering expertise, support factory expansion projects, and contribute to the development and implementation of technical standards that ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable operations across multiple LEGO sites. 

The position is based in Nyíregyháza, Hungary.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead projects for major factory expansion initiatives on behalf of GWP Engineering in collaboration with colleagues globally.
• Lead and support local and global project teams in the design and optimization of new projects and retrofit solutions, primarily at the LEGO factory in Hungary.

• Participate in projects and collaborate with suppliers, consultants, contractors, and authorities.

• Lead the discovery and evaluation of new technologies and innovative solutions for implementation into LEGO standards and future projects.

• Drive knowledge sharing and best practices related to mechanical installations and facility engineering across the organization.

• Audit processes, standards, and policies to ensure compliance and consistent implementation across projects.

• Act as a trusted technical advisor and sparring partner within the mechanical engineering discipline.

The Engineering Design & Sustainability team is part of Global Workplace Projects and is responsible for large-scale construction projects and utility-related investments across the LEGO Group. The team is responsible for technical areas including construction concepts, MEP disciplines, building management systems, and fire safety. We develop, maintain, and continuously improve global standards and apply them in projects worldwide.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will join a team of more than 30 professionals with diverse engineering backgrounds and expertise. The team supports both operations and projects across LEGO sites globally.

In this role, you will contribute to a broad range of factory expansion and construction projects, helping ensure projects are delivered on time, at the right quality level, and with sustainable technical solutions.

Do You Have What It Takes?

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent working experience.

• More than 7 years of experience within mechanical engineering, industrial construction projects, facility engineering, utility infrastructure, or related fields.

• More than 5 years of experience participating in construction projects as a consultant, contractor, client representative, or similar.

• More than 5 years of project management experience including responsibility for schedules, timelines, and budgets.

• Experience engaging and managing stakeholders both internally and externally.

• Familiarity with international practices in mechanical design and engineering solutions.

• Significant experience with mechanical detailing, industrial design, project detailing, and execution.

• Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal (C1).
