Building Services Worker - 19 Hours - Evenings - Old Town Activity Center

The City of Lenexa Parks and Recreation department is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Building Service Worker. The ideal candidate:

• Thursdays and Fridays, 6 pm - 11 pm
• Saturdays and Sundays, 6 pm - 10 pm OR 10 pm - 2 am

This position performs custodial duties involving cleaning and routine maintenance at multiple City facilities and adjacent grounds, operating equipment and setting up and cleaning up for meetings and events.

• →Assists participants with special events, rentals and programs at a variety of City facilities and parks.
• →Sets up meetings, recreational activities, birthday parties and City events scheduled at several City buildings.
• →Sweeps, vacuums and mops floors; dust and cleans offices, restrooms, meeting rooms and other work areas; strips, waxes and polishes floors; shampoos carpets.
• →Operates City vehicles to transport equipment and supplies to various facilities and events around the City.
• →Cleans sidewalks and removes snow and ice; removes debris and other litter from building grounds.
• →Operates tools and electrically powered machines (i.e., propane/ electric buffers, Grout Hog, Kaivac and auto scrubbers (walk-behind & ride-on), etc.).
• →Drives City and/or personal vehicle to perform essential functions of position.

Minimum: High school diploma or G.E.D. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must have First Aid/CPR/AED certification or obtain within six months of employment. Must complete required NIMS IS-100 and IS-700 training within three months of employment.

Desired: One year of prior job-related experience.
