Head of Frame Manufacturing Lenskart |Bhiwadi, India | On-site | Full-time Mission Brief: Build the Factory That Will Define Eyewear Manufacturing for Asia Lenskart is building one of the world's most ambitious eyewear manufacturing ecosystems — and this role is at the very centre of it.
Lenskart is building one of the world's most ambitious eyewear manufacturing ecosystems — and this role is at the very centre of it.
As Head of Frame Manufacturing, you will lead the ground-up design, commissioning, and full-scale operation of Lenskart's proprietary frames manufacturing plant. This isn't a role where you inherit a system and optimize it at the margins. You are the founder of this facility — owning everything from plant architecture and technology selection to the culture, the team, and the KPIs that will define world-class eyewear production.
You will be building a smart, AI-enabled manufacturing engine that produces millions of frames annually, serves Lenskart's rapidly growing global retail and e-commerce network, and sets a new benchmark for what modern eyewear manufacturing can look like.
If you've spent your career mastering precision manufacturing and have always wanted to build something at scale, from scratch, with the full backing of one of Asia's fastest-growing consumer tech companies — this is your moment.
Own the end-to-end setup of Lenskart's frames manufacturing plant — from concept, layout, and technology selection to full-scale production launch.
Define the facility's physical and operational blueprint across injection moulding, acetate machining, metal processing, finishing, and final assembly.
Lead technology transfer and vendor partnerships, ensuring world-class equipment and process capability from day one.
Partner with global design, product, and sourcing teams to engineer for manufacturability, speed, and consistency at scale.
Build the factory as an Industry 4.0 operation from inception — embedding IoT-enabled process monitoring, real-time quality sensing, and data-driven production control into the plant's DNA.
Drive automation roadmap development: identify high-ROI opportunities for robotic process integration, vision-based quality inspection, and AI-assisted defect detection.
Implement predictive maintenance systems that use machine learning signals to minimize unplanned downtime and extend asset life.
Define and own the plant's data architecture — ensuring every process generates actionable intelligence on throughput, yield, cycle time, and quality.
Leverage AI-driven demand signals from Lenskart's planning systems to dynamically align production schedules, WIP levels, and raw material flows.
Institutionalize end-to-end plant operations across production planning, quality assurance, maintenance, and EHS.
Drive lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM practices — not as compliance frameworks but as a living culture of continuous improvement.
Define, track, and relentlessly improve core operational KPIs: throughput, first-pass yield, OEE, cost-per-unit, and on-time-in-full delivery.
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Finance, and Product teams to align manufacturing output with commercial goals, inventory targets, and new product launch timelines.
Recruit and develop a high-performance leadership team across production, quality, engineering, and plant operations.
Build a culture anchored in craftsmanship, accountability, and curiosity — where every person on the floor takes ownership of the product they make.
Champion a data-driven decision-making culture where operators, supervisors, and managers all work from the same real-time performance dashboards.
Experience: 10–15 years of progressive leadership in precision manufacturing — eyewear frames, consumer durables, automotive components, or precision plastics/metals — with a demonstrated track record of setting up or significantly scaling a greenfield or brownfield facility.
Technical Depth: Deep hands-on knowledge of eyewear frames manufacturing processes (injection moulding, acetate machining, metal processing, finishing, assembly) combined with a genuine appetite for technology — automation, smart manufacturing, and AI-assisted operations.
Systems Thinking: You understand manufacturing as an interconnected system, not a collection of machines. You design for flow, data, and resilience — not just capacity.
Leadership: Proven ability to build and lead large cross-functional teams in high-growth, ambiguous environments. You set direction, develop people, and hold yourself to the same standard you hold others.
Education: Strong engineering foundation — B.Tech / B.E. / M.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or a related engineering discipline from a top tier 1 institution.
Builder, not optimizer. You're energized by the blank canvas — the greenfield setup, the zero-to-one challenge, the chance to build something that has never existed before.
Tech-forward. You believe the factory of the future is a data-generating, AI-informed, continuously learning system — and you want to build one.
Ownership without ego. You get into the details when it matters, you delegate when it doesn't, and you never blame the system — you improve it.
Pace and precision. You thrive at the intersection of speed and quality — moving fast enough to stay ahead of Lenskart's growth curve while maintaining the craftsmanship standards the brand demands.
Long-term builder. You're not here for two years. You want to build a legacy — a facility that becomes a case study in what modern, responsible, technology-enabled manufacturing looks like.
Own a mission-critical mandate at the centre of Lenskart's global expansion — this factory is foundational to the company's next phase of growth.
Build from zero — rare, real greenfield authority with the resources, talent access, and leadership support to do it right.
Work at the intersection of craftsmanship and technology — where precision manufacturing meets AI, automation, and data intelligence.
Join one of Asia's most ambitious consumer tech companies — a brand that has already transformed how 50M+ customers access eyewear, and is just getting started.
