Join one of our teams and support space missions around the clock from our customer's ground station in Weilheim near Munich.


Responsibilities

You will provide network and system management services for real-time operations and support Multi-Mission Operations and the associated ground segment as part of a rotating 24/7 shift team at the German Space Operations Center's ground station (ZDBS) in Weilheim near Munich.


Your responsibilities include:

  • →Operating and configuring ground station systems as part of a 24/7 shift team
  • →Reviewing planning and configuration activities
  • →Setting up, calibrating and troubleshooting satellite communication links
  • →Maintaining the operations log and ensuring operational safety and continuity
  • →Remotely configuring and monitoring TT&C equipment
  • →Performing and archiving In-Orbit Testing (IOT) measurements
  • →Operating a User Help Desk and handling user requests
  • →Configuring and operating complex ground segment systems such as 15-m tracking antennas, up- and down-converters, high-power amplifiers and related equipment
  • →Troubleshooting and resolving issues within the ground segment and operational software, including the handling of incident reports
  • →Communicating and interacting with space segment operators and other space agencies
  • →Supporting key and network management activities, simulations, testing and training
  • →Creating and maintaining operational documentation
  • →Supporting the monitoring of ground segment systems, network components and software applications
  • →Supporting System Engineers in validating procedures and analysing anomalies
  • →For experienced Controllers: potentially training and supporting new colleagues

Requirements

  • Technical background in aerospace, communications, IT or another relevant technical field
  • Good to fluent German language skills
  • Good to fluent English language skills

  • EU citizenship is required

  • Good understanding of general IT and networking fundamentals
  • Good knowledge of common Windows operating systems and familiarity with Unix-based systems
  • Ability to work independently, within international teams and according to general guidelines
