Overview:
Build quality into AI infrastructure while the work is still visible and correctable. You will work across two facility retrofits, verify critical installations and give the owner team clear evidence that systems are ready for testing. Your field judgment will help prevent defects from becoming outages, rework or delayed customer handovers.

Our client is building and operating the power, cooling and supporting infrastructure for high-density AI. This current program includes two facility retrofit projects supporting NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 and Vera Rubin deployments. An independent voice in readiness decisions, access to specialist test resources, and influence from early design through operational handover.

Job Duties
  • Establish owner inspection/test plans and critical hold/witness points with Engineering, Commissioning and the design-build primes.
  • Review contractor quality plans and verify material traceability, receiving checks, approved submittals and installation procedures.
  • Inspect critical electrical/mechanical work within qualifications; arrange licensed/specialist inspections where needed.
  • Verify piping fabrication, flushing, cleanliness evidence, fluid compatibility, pressure/leak-test records and protection from recontamination.
  • Track electrical test prerequisites, equipment identification, approved torque records, cable records and installation evidence.
  • Issue nonconformance records with responsible parties and due dates; verify corrective work before closure or concealment.
  • Coordinate AHJ and required special inspection records without substituting for those authorities or the engineer of record.
  • Provide quality readiness status and complete records to Commissioning and Operations; escalate repeated or material defects.

Requirements:
  • 7 or more years in MEP-intensive construction QA/QC or inspection with field verification and nonconformance management.
  • Evidence of inspection planning, corrective-action verification and technical records for critical infrastructure.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical/mechanical installation quality and piping cleanliness/testing requirements.
  • Relevant technical degree or equivalent inspection/construction experience; work only within personal qualifications.
  • Preferred/Bonus: Critical facility retrofit quality experience; liquid-cooling piping installations; relevant ICC or inspection credentials; familiarity with commissioning prerequisites.

Your impact
  • First 30 days: publish quality plans and coverage for critical installation hold points.
  • By day 60: implement traceable material/test records and effective nonconformance closure.
  • By day 90: demonstrate verified quality releases with no undocumented concealment or unresolved critical defects entering test.

Authority and collaboration
Apply documented owner quality holds under adopted project governance and require defect disposition by authorized engineering personnel. Escalate unresolved issues directly to the CEO. The contractor retains its own quality and site safety obligations; this manager does not independently approve engineered deviations.

Working Arrangements
This role requires substantive on-site presence at assigned Maryland facilities and travel between sites. Planned off-hours participation may be needed during commissioning or live-system interventions, with coordinated backup coverage.

Level One Personnel is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or other status protected by law.
