Quality Manager

Responsible for quality systems leadership for the Norcross optical fiber manufacturing facility.  This includes leading quality assurance and control, ensuring products and processes meet standards, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of quality across the organization.      

• Establish, track and set improvement goals for department and plant quality KPIs- customer complaints, DPMO and fiber yield.
• Establish and lead roadmap to meet the quality goals and targets – this includes leading Kaizens, initiating capital projects and proposing design improvements.
• Develop processes and criteria for performing CAPA. Train and mentor engineers and leaders on methodology.  Ensure improvements are validated and controls are sustained.
• Ensure the company’s compliance to: ISO 9001, TL 9000 and support compliance to ISO 14001 Standards through development of an internal audit program.
• Develop and implement improved processes for non-conformance management, document control and engineering change management.
• Familiarity with continuous process manufacturing
• The person must have or be willing to gain working knowledge of quality management systems, ISO 9001 requirements, Lean Principles, Six Sigma, and proficient knowledge of statistics.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• MBA/master’s degree preferred.
• 5-7 Years’ manufacturing leadership experience with significant quality experience.
• Excellent written, verbal, communication skills.
• Good organization skills with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects, priorities, and goal oriented.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office applications.

• Disposition of product that does not meet the standard requirements.
• Disposition of raw material that does not meet the standard requirements.
• Employment decisions concerning hiring staff.
• Determine training needs for employees.

• Demonstrate effective communications (verbal, written) skills
• Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel
• Maintain discretion when working with confidential and proprietary information
• Strict adherence to Company safety policies and procedures
• Adhere to all aspects of OFS’ “Standards of Conduct” document
