About the Role

As a Social Worker within the Children & Families First Team, you will work with children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection Plans, supporting families where longer-term intervention is required to reduce risk and achieve sustainable positive outcomes.

The service adopts a restorative and relationship-based practice model, enabling practitioners to build meaningful relationships with children and families while delivering effective safeguarding and support interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children and families requiring ongoing support
  • Complete high-quality assessments and care planning
  • Undertake Child in Need, Child Protection, and statutory safeguarding work
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and partner agencies
  • Contribute to positive and sustainable outcomes for children and young people
  • Ensure practice is compliant with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures

Requirements

  • Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent)
  • Social Work England registration
  • Significant frontline safeguarding experience within Children's Services
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Experience managing complex caseloads
  • Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and families
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across the BCP area
