Liquid Personnel is working with a well‑established Residential Family Assessment Service in Medway that’s looking for a confident and experienced Social Worker to step into a Deputy Manager role.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys assessment work, direct practice with families, and supporting staff — but wants to move away from the pace and pressure of Local Authority frontline teams. The service offers a calmer, structured environment where the focus is on high‑quality observations, building relationships with parents, and producing clear, balanced assessments.

As Deputy Manager, you’ll work closely with the Registered Manager to help run the day‑to‑day service. You’ll still be involved in practice, but in a more focused and manageable setting.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and supervising Family Support Workers and assessment staff
  • Contributing to parenting assessments, observations, and report writing
  • Quality checking recordings and assessment evidence
  • Acting as Safeguarding Lead and attending professional meetings
  • Supporting with Ofsted preparation and general quality assurance
  • Helping with staff training, induction and development
  • A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Strong safeguarding and assessment experience
  • Someone confident in supervising or mentoring others
  • Good analytical and report‑writing skills
  • A full UK driving licence

If you’re feeling worn down by the volume and constant deadlines of statutory work, this role offers something different. You’ll have time and space to focus on fewer families, build relationships, and complete thorough assessments without being pulled in multiple directions.

It’s also a strong next step for someone ready to develop their leadership skills while staying connected to practice.

If you consider yourself to have a disability or require any reasonable adjustment during the recruitment process or within the workplace, please highlight this at the earliest opportunity by contacting our team. With this information, we will provide appropriate support to you throughout the process and into your work placement.

We are unable to support or accept applications from candidates who are residents within the Red or Amber list of the Code of practice for the international recruitment of health and social care personnel in England, based on the World Health Organisation (WHO) Workforce Support and Safeguard List.
