Liquid Personnel is recruiting Investigating Manager for its client's Adults MASH Team at Wiltshire.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled safeguarding professional to work within a specialist multi-agency environment supporting adults who are at risk of, or have experienced, harm and who have care and support needs.
The Adult MASH works closely with a wide range of partner agencies including Police, Children's Services, Health professionals, CQC, Advocacy services, voluntary organisations, and care providers to ensure safeguarding concerns are assessed and managed effectively. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing safeguarding investigations, managing risk, and ensuring that the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal remain central to all interventions.
This role requires an experienced practitioner with extensive safeguarding knowledge, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to provide professional advice and oversight across complex safeguarding enquiries.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Acting as Investigating Manager for Section 42 safeguarding enquiries, maintaining oversight from initial referral through to conclusion.
- →Establishing safeguarding thresholds, setting investigation actions, agreeing minutes, and ensuring all enquiries progress appropriately and within required timescales.
- →Monitoring safeguarding investigations to ensure outcomes are clearly identified, completed, and actioned effectively.
- →Undertaking the role of Investigating Officer for complex safeguarding enquiries, including those involving care homes, supported living services, hospital wards, and provider concerns.
- →Triaging safeguarding referrals, assessing risk, and determining appropriate safeguarding responses in accordance with legislation and local safeguarding procedures.
- →Providing specialist advice and guidance on safeguarding adults, Mental Capacity Act, Human Rights, and safeguarding processes to practitioners and partner agencies.
- →Working collaboratively within a multi-agency environment, liaising with Police, Health professionals, CQC, Advocacy services, Children's Services, and provider organisations.
- →Applying the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal to ensure adults remain at the centre of all safeguarding processes and decision-making.
- →Supporting quality assurance and service improvement activities to promote best practice across safeguarding services.
- →Assisting with the development of colleagues through training, mentoring, professional guidance, and promoting high-quality safeguarding practice.
- →Maintaining accurate records, safeguarding documentation, reports, and correspondence to a high professional standard.
- →Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support positive outcomes for adults at risk.
Requirements

- Professional Qualification: MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, CQSW, Occupational Therapy qualification, or equivalent recognised professional qualification.
- Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England or the relevant professional regulatory body.
- Experience: Significant post-qualified experience within Adult Social Care, Adult Safeguarding, or a related specialist setting.
- Safeguarding Experience: Extensive experience leading and overseeing safeguarding investigations involving adults at risk.
- Legislation Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act, safeguarding legislation, and associated statutory guidance.
- Investigation Skills: Proven ability to undertake complex investigations, analyse information, assess risk, and make defensible professional decisions.
- Multi-Agency Working: Experience working effectively with Police, Health Services, CQC, Advocacy Services, and other safeguarding partners.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication, report-writing, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Professional Practice: Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and provide expert safeguarding advice in complex situations.
- Training & Development: Experience supporting colleagues through mentoring, training, quality assurance, or practice development activities is desirable.
