Liquid Personnel is recruiting an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist for its client's Children's Disability Team based in Leeds. This is a full-time locum role offering £30 per hour, supporting children and young people with a wide range of physical, behavioural, and complex disabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Children's Occupational Therapist to manage a complex caseload, undertake specialist assessments, and make recommendations that improve independence, safety, and inclusion for children and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex and diverse caseload of children and young people with disabilities, completing comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments in their own homes.
  • Complete complex functional and occupational assessments, identifying barriers to independence, participation, and inclusion.
  • Assess and recommend appropriate specialist equipment, bespoke equipment, and major adaptations.
  • Undertake complex moving and handling assessments, recommending appropriate equipment and providing advice and training to carers.
  • Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, and partner agencies, ensuring the views and needs of the child remain central to assessment and intervention.
  • Produce high-quality written and verbal reports, including evidence-based recommendations for major adaptations and specialist equipment.
  • Manage workload effectively, prioritising complex cases while meeting statutory requirements and service priorities.
  • Contribute to safeguarding processes and work in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and professional standards.
  • Develop strong working relationships with colleagues across health, social care, and partner agencies to provide an integrated and multidisciplinary service.
  • Exercise professional judgement and use creative, strengths-based problem solving to develop effective solutions for children and families.
  • Maintain accurate case records and assessments while ensuring compliance with data protection and service procedures.
  • Support the development of colleagues by sharing professional knowledge, skills, and best practice.

Requirements

  • Occupational Therapy Degree or Diploma
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Previous experience working with children and families
  • Experience managing complex Children's Occupational Therapy caseloads
  • Experience with specialist equipment and major adaptations
  • Experience undertaking complex moving and handling assessments
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgement, and manage challenging situations
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car
  • Enhanced DBS required
