RetailRestaurant Server

At Canopy Scottsdale Old Town, our restaurant and rooftop lounge are a gathering place for guests and neighbors alike, from a relaxed breakfast at Cobre Kitchen + Cocktails to sunset cocktails at Outrider Rooftop Lounge. The Host is the first and last impression of every visit, welcoming each guest warmly and setting the tone from the moment they arrive.

This position is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations and the waitlist, balancing seating across server sections, and keeping the host stand and dining areas clean, organized, and welcoming. Hosts may be scheduled in either outlet and work closely with the server, bar, and kitchen teams to keep service seamless during busy shifts, events, and peak season.

This is a part-time position. Schedules follow business levels and include weekends and holidays.

As a member of the Lodging Dynamics team, this role reflects what it means to be Driven By Culture: we lead with heart, serve with the spirit of hospitality, and strive for excellence in every guest interaction.

  • Welcome every guest warmly and promptly upon arrival, and thank guests with genuine appreciation as they leave.
  • Manage reservations, the waitlist, and call-ahead requests, and arrange large parties and special requests.
  • Quote accurate wait times and keep waiting guests informed.
  • Escort guests to their tables, present clean menus, fill water glasses, and share daily features.
  • Maintain the seating chart and rotate seating across server sections to balance workload and keep service prompt.
  • Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and the kitchen on table status, large parties, and special requests.
  • Confirm tables are clean and properly set before seating guests, and help clear and reset tables during busy periods.
  • Clean and sanitize menus before and after each shift, and keep the host stand organized and stocked.
  • Inspect the dining room and service stations for neatness and cleanliness, and promptly report spills, broken items, or safety hazards.
  • Answer phone calls professionally and share information about hours, menus, and events.
  • Note allergy, accessibility, and special occasion requests, and communicate them to the service team.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and concerns, resolve routine issues within the scope of the position, and escalate safety concerns or unresolved matters to a Supervisor or Manager.
  • Complete opening and closing duties, including restocking supplies, organizing the host stand, and closing down the dining room.
  • Follow hotel heat safety practices during outdoor and rooftop shifts, including hydration, shade, and rest breaks, and help teammates recognize and report signs of heat-related illness.
  • Follow all company policies, brand standards, safety procedures, and required operational guidelines, and complete all assigned training and compliance requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

At Canopy, three values guide how we show up for our guests and for each other:

  • Own the Details. You notice what makes the difference, such as a clean menu, a perfectly set table, or a guest celebrating something special, and you take pride in getting it right.
  • Make the Moment Count. You are the first and last impression of every visit. Your welcome shapes how guests feel, whether they are here for a quick breakfast or a celebration dinner.
  • Show Up for Each Other. You stay engaged, listen, and jump in to help your teammates, because guests can feel it when a team works well together.

This position requires strong guest service, communication, and organizational skills in a fast-paced restaurant and lounge environment.

  • Genuine enthusiasm for hospitality and for creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Clear, friendly verbal communication with guests and associates, in person and by phone.
  • Ability to manage reservations, the waitlist, and several arriving guests at once while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organization and awareness of the dining room to balance server sections and table turns.

  • Ability to learn and use reservation, waitlist, and POS systems and other required technology.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and pitch in wherever needed.
  • Ability to learn and follow hotel procedures, brand standards, food safety requirements, and company policies.
  • Availability to work shifts as scheduled, including weekends and holidays.
  • None
  • One or more years of customer service, hospitality, or food and beverage experience.
  • Maricopa County Food Handler Card, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
