Loenbro is currently seeking an Electrical Superintendent to join our team. The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for leading and managing all field electrical operations for water treatment, wastewater treatment, and industrial infrastructure construction projects. This role oversees workforce planning, installation activities, safety compliance, quality control, productivity, and schedule performance to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes.

The Electrical Superintendent works closely with Project Managers, field leadership, subcontractors, owners, engineers, inspectors, and clients to coordinate daily construction activities and resolve field challenges.

 

Responsibilities

  • Field Operations Management: Lead and manage all field electrical construction activities on water, wastewater, and industrial infrastructure projects. Develop and execute daily and weekly work plans to support project schedules and milestones. Coordinate labor, materials, tools, equipment, and subcontractors to maximize productivity and efficiency. Independently mobilize, organize, and manage project startup activities.
  • Workforce Leadership: Supervise and support foremen, lead electricians, journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractors. Establish clear performance expectations and promote accountability across project teams. Assist with recruiting, training, mentoring, and workforce development initiatives. Foster a collaborative work environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Safety Management: Promote and enforce Loenbro's safety culture and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) policies. Conduct daily safety meetings, site inspections, and hazard assessments. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, project-specific safety requirements, and applicable electrical safety standards. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate construction activities with project management, owners, engineers, inspectors, vendors, and other trades. Participate in project planning meetings, schedule reviews, and coordination efforts. Identify and proactively resolve field conflicts, constructability concerns, and project risks. Support change order identification, documentation, and implementation.
  • Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure all electrical installations meet project specifications, contract requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct inspections and verify compliance with approved drawings, installation standards, and quality requirements. Support testing, commissioning, startup, and turnover activities. Maintain accurate field documentation, reports, and project records.
  • Schedule and Productivity Management: Monitor project progress and workforce productivity to ensure project goals are achieved. Coordinate manpower forecasts and resource planning with project management. Identify schedule impacts and implement recovery plans as needed. Support cost control initiatives through efficient labor and resource utilization.
  • Other Duties: Other duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations.

 

Requirements

  • 7+ years of electrical construction experience with progressive field leadership responsibilities.
  • 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Superintendent, General Foreman, or equivalent leadership role.
  • Experience managing electrical scopes on water treatment plants (WTP), wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), pump stations, industrial facilities, or municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, equipment installation, motor controls, power distribution systems, instrumentation, and process control systems.
  • Experience coordinating multiple crews, subcontractors, and trade partners in active construction environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
  • Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Office, and other construction management software.

Nice to Have

  • Utah Journeyman or Master Electrician License.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, instrumentation and controls (I&C), and process automation systems.
  • Experience with municipal infrastructure and public-sector construction projects.
  • Experience coordinating commissioning, startup, and turnover activities.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Combination of office and active construction site environments, with the majority of time spent at project sites and in outdoor conditions as required.
  • Frequent walking on uneven terrain and active construction sites.
  • Potential exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, weather conditions, and other environmental factors.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and access elevated work areas as needed.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as required.

This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
