We’re looking for a Technical Recruiter with a strong background in hardware and product engineering recruitment who is excited to help Loft Orbital scale its satellite engineering and production teams. In this role, you’ll own the full-cycle recruiting process—from sourcing to offer—for highly specialized hardware engineering positions critical to the design, development, integration, and operation of our satellite systems. You’ll partner closely with hiring managers to identify and attract top talent across mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, embedded systems, RF, systems engineering, and hardware test.
- 3+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, with a strong focus on hardware and engineering roles, ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Demonstrated strength in proactive sourcing, including LinkedIn Recruiter, advanced Boolean search techniques, and creative approaches to identifying and engaging passive candidates.
- Experience recruiting technical talent across hardware and product engineering disciplines, including mechanical engineering, electrical/electronics, embedded systems, firmware, RF/wireless, systems engineering, and hardware test.
- Strong understanding of hardware engineering concepts and technologies, including CAD, GD&T, PCB design, signal integrity, power electronics, and complex electromechanical systems.
- Ability to understand and translate highly technical requirements into effective sourcing strategies, including specialized areas such as embedded C/C++, RTOS, microcontrollers, FPGA, RF systems, antennas, and EMI/EMC.
- Familiarity with engineering verification and validation processes, hardware test methodologies, and environmental testing.
- Experience recruiting within aerospace, space, satellite, defense, or adjacent complex hardware/deep-tech industries.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong talent pipelines for specialized hardware engineering positions in competitive markets.
- Ability to effectively pitch Loft’s mission, culture, and technical challenges to highly specialized, passive candidates.
- Experience conducting phone screens, assessing technical alignment, and managing candidate communication throughout the full interview lifecycle.
- Proficiency with ATS tools (Lever preferred), including maintaining accurate and up-to-date pipelines.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to partner closely with hiring managers and the internal recruiting team, providing market insights and recommendations to improve hiring outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Direct experience recruiting for satellite systems, avionics, GNC, RF engineering, hardware test, or assembly, integration, and test (AI&T) positions.
- Familiarity with spacecraft hardware development, electronics manufacturing, PCB design, and satellite production environments.
- Experience recruiting globally, with knowledge of both US and European aerospace and hardware engineering talent ecosystems.
- Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, and compliance considerations relevant to US-based space and defense hiring.
- Prior work in or close partnership with startup or high-growth aerospace companies.
- Background in agency recruiting or experience managing multiple specialized technical searches simultaneously.
- Skilled at using social platforms like LinkedIn to enhance employer brand and attract niche technical talent.
- Comfort reporting on recruiting metrics, pipeline health, and sourcing performance.
