This is a hands-on support role for someone who enjoys keeping people, projects, deadlines, and information organized. The HR & Operations Assistant will assist with recruiting, onboarding, employee administration, training coordination, operational tracking, property follow-up, and special projects.

The ideal candidate is professional, responsive, detail-oriented, comfortable following up with others, and able to shift priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity designed to provide immediate support while allowing both the employee and LPM to evaluate long-term fit and growth opportunities.

HR, Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Assist with candidate outreach, interview scheduling, applicant tracking, and recruiting follow-up.

  • Maintain recruiting pipelines and update candidate information in the applicant tracking system.

  • Coordinate new-hire onboarding, including training schedules, system access, equipment, required documentation, and first-day logistics.

  • Track completion of onboarding requirements and assigned training.

  • Assist with offboarding logistics and administrative checklists.

  • Maintain HR trackers, employee documentation, process guides, and internal resources.

  • Draft routine HR communications, reminders, and follow-up emails.

  • Route employee questions and requests to the appropriate HR or Corporate team member.

  • Provide administrative support for HR projects and initiatives.

Operations & Property Support

  • Track weekly and monthly property deliverables, deadlines, and outstanding items.

  • Follow up with onsite teams regarding requested reports, documentation, and incomplete submissions.

  • Assist Corporate and Regional leadership with organizing property-level priorities and action items.

  • Collect and organize information related to occupancy, delinquency, inspections, compliance, and other operational reporting.

  • Maintain operational trackers, reports, documentation, and records.

  • Assist with special projects, property transitions, and new operational initiatives.

  • Identify missing information and approaching deadlines and escalate items requiring additional attention.

Compliance, Accounting & Vendor Support

  • Assist with tracking Affordable Housing compliance deadlines, certifications, recertifications, inspections, and outstanding documentation.

  • Help organize documentation for MOR, NSPIRE/REAC, file audits, and other property inspections.

  • Coordinate with Accounting and onsite teams regarding missing invoices, approvals, and supporting documentation.

  • Assist with vendor setup and communication.

  • Collect and organize bids, proposals, contracts, and supporting CapEx documentation.

  • Track outstanding financial and operational submissions from properties.

This position provides administrative and tracking support; compliance, accounting, and operational decisions remain with the appropriate department or manager.

Communication & Follow-Through

  • Draft emails, reminders, and operational communications for HR and Corporate Leadership.

  • Follow up with employees and managers regarding deadlines, requested information, and outstanding items.

  • Help coordinate communication between HR, Operations, Accounting, Compliance, Maintenance, and onsite teams.

  • Maintain clear notes, action items, and follow-up trackers.

  • Escalate overdue, unresolved, or sensitive matters to the appropriate leader.

  • Exercise good judgment regarding what can be handled independently and what requires management review.

Corporate & Onsite Support

  • Assist with maintaining Corporate process guides, templates, training materials, and shared resources.

  • Occasionally provide administrative and organizational support at San Diego-area properties during staffing transitions, inspections, training, or other operational needs.

  • Help reinforce consistent Corporate processes across properties.

  • Provide additional administrative and project support based on changing business priorities.

  • 1–2+ years of experience in administrative support, Human Resources, recruiting, operations, property management, or a similar fast-paced professional environment preferred.

  • Property management experience is preferred but not required.

  • Experience supporting multiple managers, departments, or locations is a plus.

  • Affordable Housing exposure, including HUD, LIHTC/Tax Credit, or Section 8, is a plus.

  • Experience with an ATS, HRIS, property management platform, or similar business system is preferred.

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and shared tracking tools.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and changing priorities.

  • Comfortable professionally following up with employees and managers at different levels of the organization.

  • Strong judgment regarding when to take action and when to escalate.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle employee and business information.

  • Reliable, proactive, resourceful, and willing to learn.

  • Location: Primarily onsite at LPM's Corporate Office in San Diego, CA, with occasional support at local properties.

  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday.

  • Classification: Non-exempt and eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law.

  • Position Type: Temp-to-hire.
