HVAC Technician

Summary/Objective: The Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning Mechanic will install, service and repair environmental-control systems, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout. This position services a federally-owned building (1,670,00 SF) and childcare center (11,500 SF), spanning 3+ floors. 

Essential Functions:

• Conduct daily tours of HVAC equipment, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pneumatic control air compressors, air handler rooms, main switchgear, primary electrical rooms, fire alarm system and control panels, steam system, reducing and regulating stations, special HVAC and uninterruptible power systems for critical functions.
• Conduct weekly tours of distributed HVAC equipment including package units and external condensers, pumps, motors, sewage ejectors, fire pumps, condensate drip pans and generators. Incorporate moisture control tours to prevent building damage, minimize mold contamination, illuminate leaks, and reduce health risks related to moisture. 
• Provide preventative maintenance services on HVAC equipment in building 
• Respond to customer service requests/work orders in a timely manner
• Provide monthly required HVAC reports to government customer 

Education and Experience: HVAC personnel shall possess one or more of the following: 

• North American Technician Excellence (NATE) HVAC Service Technician Certification
• HVAC Excellence Professional Level Certification
• UA Star HVAC Mastery Certification
• Union workers shall provide current Journeyman certification
